I had to take a month or so off from learning rails to work on client projects, so obviously this isn’t going to be consecutive, but I’m back at it again with “Rails For Zombies“.
I think that the production value of this video course is beyond fantastic, but I’m finding myself lost on a lot of the questions after watching the videos.
It may be just me, but some of the questions seem to add in elements that completely throw me off.
For example, In Level 3-Challenge 4, we are told: “In the each block, if a zombie has more than one tweet, print out SMART ZOMBIE.”
Tweets were never mentioned or dealt with in any of the previous questions, and now all of a sudden we are supposed to find tweets? I don’t know. It definitely didn’t help me any.
I’m going to TRY my best to keep going with this, but there is just so much being quickly thrown at you. It’s very hard for me to digest it all.
I want to finish it, but a part of me wonders how much knowledge I’m really soaking up. I may need to go elsewhere before finishing this and moving on their new Zombies course.
Hey folks! I ended up going with Michael Hartl’s massively popular (for a reason) Ruby on Rails tutorial course to learn Rails. I highly recommend you do the same.
Check it out here.
